Groom Creek Loop Trail

Hoping to escape the blistering heat we headed up toward Prescott to hike the Groom Creek Loop Trail. It winds through a pine area and does give some shade but with temperatures in the 90s it was still hot. However, the end of our route took us to the Fire Service Lookout Tower manned by a very nice woman who allowed us to come up and get a great view of the valley. You have to admire the folks who spend days at a time living in these and watching for signs of forest fires. We were very impressed.
